Recently I realized that some of my advise
and tips are worthless if you
don’t know how to make money on the internet. So I decided
to give
everyone a FREE guide to getting started making money!
There
are a lot of e-books out there selling what I am about to tell you.
So don’t pass up this free
guide if you really want to know how they do it.
Why am I doing this? Simple, I know there are
a lot of people out there
like myself that would love to work from home but lack the
secret of
how to get started. There are a million of those get rich
books, plans,
schemes and programs out there that really just tell you
enough to get
your money after paying them a ridiculous fee for
information that is
readily available on the web. Now granted they do take the
time to research
and put this information together for you and that is
worth some money,
but most don’t tell you the pitfalls to watch out for.
After all you will
become one of their competitors.
I will outline for you a step by step guide
on how to get started making
money on the internet. Armed with this info and the info I
tell people
about scams and rip-offs to watch out for, you should be
able to make
a living by applying time and common sense. Good luck

THE BASIC IDEA
I
am going to show you how to become an affiliate marketer. No you don’t have to
sell anything! You basically point people in the direction of what they want to
buy and let the site that has the product they want do the selling. You will
actually get paid for everything they buy, sign up for, register for or join. I
don’t consider this selling, I call it telling!
THE DETAILS
You can become an affiliate for almost
everything for sale on the internet. You do not take orders, process them, fill
out forms (except for joining), manufacture products, ship them,
follow ups or customer service. All you do is become an affiliate of a product
or service (for free) and then make an ad on Google or Overture to sell the
product. If no one clicks on your ad, you pay nothing. When an interested buyer
does click your ad then you pay the amount that you bid for the click. When a
buyer purchases the product or service you get paid a percentage. For example,
One Item I sell is an e-book that sells for $29.95. For everyone that I sell I
get $17.97. That’s 60% of the price comes to me! Now don’t be fooled, not every
click is a buying customer. In fact on average about 1 out of ever 100 clicks
actually buys. On this particular ad I pay .10 a click. So lets
do the math, It cost me .10 X 100 or $10.00 and I get $17.97 (one sale) on average
per 100 clicks. So I made $7.97. Doesn’t sound like much? Imagine having 25
ads, that equals $198.50 or even 50 ads equals
$398.50! See where I’m going with this? You can have as many ads as you wish
just as long as you can pay for the ads before you get your first check from
the brokers. Google will want their money by the end of the month. Brokers can
take 1 to 3 months before they start sending you your checks. The point is to
start out with just a couple of ads and work your way up as you can afford it.
Don’t get caught in the trap of owing too much before you get your money! It’s
depressing and you will most likely give up. Start slow and stick with it! No
one gets rich overnight!
STEP #1
Open
a separate checking account for your new business. Personally I wouldn’t do
this with out a checking account for my business. After all you are starting a
business working for yourself and you need to keep track of income and
spending. The merchants that you affiliate for will send you an I-9 tax form that
you will be responsible for paying income tax. (at
least here in the U.S). Usually a percentage of what you spend on your business
is deductible come tax time. Check your government, state and local tax laws to
see how to handle your tax responsibility. You can check on this by searching google for local, state and government tax laws.
STEP #2
Sign
up for a free paypal account.
A
lot of merchants & brokers will pay you via paypal.
Some will send you checks directly or direct deposit them into your bank account.
Hence the need for a separate bank account.

STEP #3
Sign
up for Google adwords. It’s only a $5 registration fee and you can get
started running ads immediately. Also sign up for Overture. They run the ads on
Yahoo and several other big search engines.

Overture.com
and sign up for an account under the sponsored search.
STEP #4
Join
affiliate sites.
Joining
is free. It is best to join an affiliate broker like clickbank,
etc. because they have hundreds of merchants you can pick and choose from to be
an affiliate for. Plus it’s easy because you don’t have to go through the whole
sign up process for each one. Sign up with a couple of brokers and you’ve
signed up for thousands of merchants! Below are a couple of brokers that are
the “top dogs” in affiliate marketing opportunities.
If
they ask you for your website, just put “I use Google Adwords”
and they usually accept it. Some require a valid website address. Go to
blogger.com and start your free blog website in
minutes. It can be about anything!
Make
sure all of your info including phone #, social security #, name and address
are correct. They will verify this for your tax info and for the purpose of
contacting you.
Here are some links of the “Top Dogs” in
affiliate brokers that have hundreds if not thousands of merchants that you can
pick and choose from by just signing up for one broker. I recommend signing up
for several so you have more choices of products to market since you never know
what’s going to be hot next.
STEP #5
Now
that you’re an affiliate, find a product or service you might like to sell. (I
prefer the downloadable e-books). Next go to Google adwords
and create a campaign (ad). Lets back up a minute. I
advise you to go thru the Google adwords tutorial
first to see exactly how to create a campaign. Don’t worry it’s really pretty
easy and they walk you through it.
CONGRATULATIONS!
You
are now ready to make money! In the following paragraphs I will tell you about
some of the pitfalls and give you some free advise on
tweaking your new business. This section is the stuff that all those get rich
quick e-books do not tell you about. I must say that
these tips are purely my opinion
On things that I’ve tried that work for me. Feel free to try them, change them or do whatever you want to make your business work. After all it’s your business and your decisions that make it a success. You will see that there really are e-books out there that can help educate you in different marketing aspects of your business. I personally look at buy these books as a low cost investment in my business education.
Earlier on this page I mentioned paying .10 a click for 100 clicks. Don't be
fooled, Not every is a buying customer. In fact on that particular item I'm
getting about a 1 out 100 click ratio. I could probably make this ratio better.
You can actually change your ratios for the better or the worse just by
re-wording your ad. I recommend doing a Google search on the item or service you
plan on selling and look at your competitors ads to see how they worded theirs.
Chances are if the ad is on the first couple of pages, they wouldn't be paying
for a high click rate unless the ad was truly selling.
Keywords, I've tried a lot of keywords, as many as 500 for one ad. Don't Do It!
This will just cost you a fortune in clicks from people who are not really
interested in buying but just looking or browsing. The secret is to use just a
couple of truly significant keywords. Be specific when describing your product
or service and don't be afraid to put the price in the ad. This way the buyer
knows before he clicks what is on the other end and how much it costs. This will
greatly increase the likelihood that they will buy and not fly!
Finding the right keywords is also vital. You will see that the obvious keywords
have a top bid on them so high you could never make your money back. Another
secret is to find relevant keywords that others have not found. This will
greatly improve what page your ad is placed on and also save you a lot by
getting good page rank for minimum click price. I have found great keywords that
have cost me .05 and got me on the first or second search page.
Finding Keywords is the toughest part of placing great selling ads. There are
programs out there that can pick keywords for you. Here are a couple that I've
used.

I have also tried to tweak the heck out of ads, after finding great keywords,
for weeks. In the end I just realized I wasted my time and money on an item that
just doesn't sell or nobody wants to buy on the internet. You have to use some
common sense on whether or not you would buy some of this stuff on the internet.
But keep in mind some people will buy anything hence the pet rock.
Set up a checking account. I personally wouldn't do this with out a checking
account for my business. After all you are starting a business working for
yourself and you need to keep track of income and spending. The merchants that
